In the beginning of November, one of my BFF's over at Aligirlcooks wrote a post about the above photo and how she created it. If you follow her blog, you would have read that we originally saw something similar on another site and I encourage her to create it on her own. It was super easy and she did a fabulous job making it while we watched one of our favorite weekly TV shows. So, when I moved into my new home I knew I wanted something similar in my kitchen, but with greens and pinks because that is my color palette.

I went to the local craft store and found some awesome kitchen printed scrapbook paper to use as the background. Turned out pretty cool, right? I chose to use the Italian word for "eat" which is "mangia" then it was repeated twice, because when we were in high school, CK would take my over to his grandmother's often and she would alwaaaays attempt to feed me. I am a picky eater, and weighed about 20 lbs less than, so she would yell "Katie, Mangia, Mangia!!" haha, still makes me smile, so its our homage to her. Something else to notice, I didn't paint the letters because I hope one day to have natural wood for my counter tops, which would totally match. You could paint them to match the paper or your colors if you would like. I also added grapes inside the shadow box along with a couple other kitchen things...on the top "A" you will see a miniature can in the triangle part and in the inside of the top "G" you will find a miniature rolling pin. On the bottom "N" you will see a miniature whisker and on the bottom "G" a miniature cookbook. Also, something else to add, these shadow boxes were on sale because they had a surplus of black ones. I wanted white, but they were $10 more for each! So, I bought the black and spray painted them white. When in doubt, I heart spray paint for projects!!!
I enjoy kitchens that have one word phrases like "eat", have you seen this around?
